The jounal is much more brightly colored than the picture and both the dragons on the front and back have excellent detail. The inside cover(front and back) has light purple colored dragon pictures and a space for the owner's name. The paper is good quality and each paper has dragon head at the top (eight diferent kinds) and grape vines on the top and bottom. The paper will not rip easily and will not just rip out of the journal if you put your hand on it. A beautiful, practical and sturdy journal.
